Maciek Pysz, born in 1982 in Poland, is a Paris-based guitarist and composer renowned for his lyrical phrasing, cinematic compositions, and expressive musical voice. His work blends jazz, classical, and world influences — drawing inspiration from tango, flamenco, and Brazilian traditions — while remaining rooted in melody, space, and emotional depth.

After relocating to London in 2003, he formed the Maciek Pysz Trio in 2008 and released his debut EP Discoveries. His first full-length album, Insight (2013, 33Jazz Records), recorded at Artesuono Studio in Italy with Yuri Goloubev (double bass) and Asaf Sirkis (drums), received widespread critical acclaim for its lyrical beauty and cohesion.

In 2015, he released A Journey on the New York–based label Dot Time Records, featuring Daniele di Bonaventura(bandoneon, piano), Goloubev, and Sirkis. The album, supported by Arts Council England, explored themes of travel, memory, and belonging, and confirmed Pysz’s reputation as a deeply expressive and evocative composer.

Maciek has performed with leading artists including Richard Galliano, Daniele di Bonaventura, Tim Garland, and Ivo Neame, and has appeared on the same bill as Hiromi, Vincent Peirani, Émile Parisien, Erik Truffaz, Stanley Clarke, Yaron Herman, and the Marcin Wasilewski Trio.

His diverse projects include duo albums such as London Stories (2017 with Gianluca Corona, 33Jazz Records) and Coming Home (2017 with Daniele di Bonaventura, Caligola Records), solo guitar works like A View (2019, Caligola Records), and the improvisational collective Inwardness, whose album Space Jazz (2018, Ozella Records) was released on the acclaimed German label Ozella Records.

Pysz is currently leading his new project, the Maciek Pysz French Quartet, a newly formed duo with Polish guitarist Piotr Domagala and continues to expand his artistic reach through performance and composition. In April 2025, he recorded a new trio album with Daniele di Bonaventura and Yuri Goloubev, scheduled for release in 2026.

Having performed at major European and international jazz festivals, Maciek Pysz remains an artist of rare sensitivity and melodic imagination, captivating audiences with his refined tone, storytelling touch, and cross-cultural musical language.
